Terms of Service
Last updated: 30 March 2026
1. What SquidRoll is
SquidRoll is an AI-powered service that generates animated explainer videos from a script or topic. You type a topic, pick a visual style, and receive a downloadable video. The service is provided as-is during its beta period.
2. Your account
You need an account to use SquidRoll. You can sign up with email or Google OAuth. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. One account per person.
3. Content ownership
- Your scripts: you own the text you submit. We use it only to generate your video.
- Your videos: you own the videos SquidRoll generates for you. You can download, edit, and publish them anywhere.
- Free tier watermark: videos generated on the free tier include a SquidRoll watermark. Paid plans remove it.
- Our components: the visual elements, scene templates, and animations used in your video are part of the SquidRoll platform. You have a license to use them in your generated videos but not to extract and redistribute them separately.
4. Credit system
- One credit equals one video generation.
- Credits reset at the start of each billing cycle.
- Unused credits do not roll over to the next month.
- Free tier: 3 videos per month. No credit card required.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use SquidRoll to:
- Generate content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or harassing.
- Generate content that infringes on intellectual property rights.
- Generate misleading content presented as human-created when disclosure is required.
- Automate bulk video generation outside normal product use.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, extract, or copy the AI pipeline, prompts, or rendering system.
- Resell the service or provide it as a white-label offering without a Scale plan.
We reserve the right to suspend accounts that violate these terms.
6. AI disclosure
SquidRoll uses artificial intelligence to generate videos. Specifically:
- Anthropic (Claude): generates storyboards and visual direction from your script.
- OpenAI: generates text-to-speech voiceover.
- ElevenLabs: generates premium voiceover (Pro and Scale tiers).
AI-generated content may occasionally contain errors or unexpected results. You are responsible for reviewing your video before publishing.
7. Payments and refunds
Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, our Merchant of Record. LemonSqueezy handles billing, tax collection, and compliance on our behalf.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month (or year for annual plans).
- You can cancel anytime. Access continues until the end of your billing period.
- Refund requests are handled per LemonSqueezy's refund policy.
8. Service availability
SquidRoll is currently in beta. We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted service. We may perform maintenance, update features, or modify the service at any time.
We are not liable for any losses resulting from service downtime, video generation failures, or changes to the platform.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SquidRoll and its founder are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability is limited to the amount you have paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
10. Termination
- You can delete your account at any time.
- We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
- On termination, your generated videos remain available for download for 30 days. After that, they are permanently deleted.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
